Tem como principais características o tegumento levemente rugoso, grão reniforme e o halo bem delineado na cor preta. Também é conhecido no Brasil como Boca-preta e mundialmente conhecido como Blackeye Bean (feijão de olho preto). Seu tamanho varia entre 400 a 450 grãos/100 g.
